Misty's Story

I learned there is no ideal situation, there maybe or will be some sort of problem or situation to deal with, and it's okay. I don't have to feel bad or give myself such a hard time about it. Also, it's all about perspective. It's very easy to feel that everything is terrible when you're going through an ordeal focusing only on that negative thing and feeling there isn't anything positive. However, as I have proof, there were positive things that I wasn't able to acknowledge at the time.

Hopefully this helps someone else as well. Don't be too hard on yourself about what you think you didn't do or achieve or whatever other guilt trip you may consider taking yourself on. Because you really don't know what another situation may have brought you. Try to focus on the small positive things that are happening because they are there and it will make the hard stuff not seem so all consuming putting perspective on the situation. And most definitely, get someone, or do it yourself, to take lots of pictures, so you can look back and realize the good you did do and the happy moments that were there. And I don't say any of this to minimalize the hardship you've suffered, I know it felt like hell when I went through things with that little girl. But rather I say it just to offer the idea that in the midst of it, there is joy too if we but look.
