There is another resource and the beauty of this resource is that you have already found it! Congratulate yourself again for being a resourceful new parent! Look through our many articles that cover a variety of topics important to mothers and new families.

If you are having protracted breastfeeding challenges you may want to join the MOBI online support group. (We do have a screening process, and will sometimes refer mothers to other groups if we think they are a better fit there.)

MOBI Motherhood International (Mothers Overcoming Breastfeeding Issues) is unique. Its members want to breastfeed but have difficulties to overcome that impact breastfeeding. Many cannot succeed at breastfeeding, and find a place to express their disappointment and grief. MOBI does not participate in the debate on formula or breast milk. Our mothers want to breastfeed, but use formula if necessary.

At the MOBI email support group, mothers find acceptance, empathy and good old-fashioned support. They are helped to make an informed decision about what avenue to take next.

MOBI - Mothers Overcoming Breastfeeding Issues

The purpose of MOBI is to provide a supportive environment to mothers who are/were struggling with above-norm breastfeeding problems or breastfeeding failure.

MOBI, a community of mothers and breastfeeding specialists, tries to provide women with compassion and understanding, whether their issues involve concrete breastfeeding questions, or emotional issues, such as helplessness, anger, and grief. The medical or emotional issues discussed at MOBI are not intended as a substitute for consultation from your health-care provider.

The breastfeeding issues we frequently discuss include untimely weaning, re-lactation and getting a baby back to the breast, low milk supply, building milk supply, herbs and foods to support milk supply, overactive milk-ejection reflex, breast refusal, nursing strikes, teething issues, mismanagement at hospital, postpartum depression, PCOS, sucking issues, tongue-tie, using a supplemental feeding device, pumping, colic, allergy, neurological issues or delays, therapies for babies with neurological issues, and GERD-reflux. If you have an issue that is not listed here, feel free to ask and we will try to help.

Due to MOBI 's confidential nature, membership is restricted and is decided on an individual basis. Sometimes, more appropriate groups are recommended.

Support for Breastfeeding Grief

This group is a sister-group of MOBI (Mothers Overcoming Breastfeeding Issues).

Mothers who were not able to have the breastfeeding relationship they dreamed of often go through profound emotional trauma that is not understood by friends and family. This group offers a safe environment to talk about our feelings and help each other with the process of grieving and moving on.

MOBI-Family

MOBI-Family offers the husbands and family of MOBI mothers a resource to discuss the experience and process of overcoming difficult breastfeeding issues.

In particular, we hope to offer fathers an opportunity to express their concerns and to learn supportive measures to enable their wives to reach their breastfeeding goals, or to find closure with their breastfeeding situation.

PCOS - Breastfeeding

PCOS - Breastfeeding is a sister-group of MOBI (Mothers Overcoming Breastfeeding Issues), where we discuss breastfeeding issues pertaining to PCOS, among many other issues.

PCOS can create breastfeeding difficulties that are beyond the norm. Chronic low milk supply, resulting from insufficient glandular tissue development, or over abundant supply, with an overactive milk ejection reflex, both can lead to breastfeeding failure.

In this group we concentrate on PCOS - breastfeeding issues, sharing insights, personal stories, medical studies and reports, and mother-to-mother support. Maybe one day you will return as one of the wise "old" Moms and help someone just like yourself.
